A niche WooCommerce shop with a configurator.

A niche WooCommerce online store for licence plate frames carrying the buyer's own text: a configurator on the product page, a cart and checkout fitted to the product, price by quantity and the EU requirements settled before opening. An order reaches production with the text, the file and the preview, with no email thread.

From 1 unitto large business orders: the price drops as the quantity grows, no quote needed

How it was built

The work.

A configurator on the product page, with no separate windows

A licence plate frame is made to order: each one is printed with the buyer's text, logo or a ready-made design. All the personalisation sits on the product page itself, with no pop-up windows and no separate step. The buyer types the text and sees it at once on a real photo of the frame, in the spot where it will be printed, and thin lines at the ends of the band mark the safe zone.

There is no position or size to pick: the exact layout is agreed on a proof after the order and sent over for approval. We set no requirements for the file, any graphic file works, so a company attaches the very logo it already has. Quantity is chosen right there, and the price recalculates the same moment.

A WooCommerce cart and checkout built around the product

The cart and the checkout are fitted to this product. Every line, both in the side drawer and on the cart page, carries the buyer's text under the product name, so what will be printed stays visible right up to payment. Change the quantity and the unit price on the line recalculates itself: the more frames, the lower the price, with no codes and nobody asking.

The delivery method is chosen in the cart already, so the total with delivery is visible before the checkout. The checkout itself is laid out in numbered steps and follows that choice: a parcel locker brings up a locker search and list, a bus parcel asks for the station, pickup needs neither an address nor a courier. The “Buying as a company?” checkbox opens the company and VAT number fields, payment goes by bank or card, and the final button reads “Order and pay”, as the law requires.

A search that turns into an order

Companies search for their own name, and often it is not in the catalogue yet. Such a search shows no empty screen: it opens an order form with a preview in which the name typed already sits on the frame, next to a logo upload, a text field and the quantity. The order can be placed without leaving the results page.

Below the form sit earlier jobs under their own names, so a returning client finds their frame and orders it again. An order from the catalogue and one from this form reach production identical.

EU requirements for an online store, settled before opening

The product page carries the official EU legal guarantee notice and the manufacturer's details. Contract withdrawal works as a function on the site rather than only as an email: the buyer fills in a form and receives confirmation by email with the content of the statement, the date and the time. No account is needed for it, because buying happens without registration.

Cookie consent is wired so that until the visitor agrees, neither analytics nor any other third-party script loads. The legal and information pages were written alongside the shop: terms of purchase, returns and guarantee, privacy policy, cookies, delivery and payment. We wrote them from the legislation and the Commission guidance, but not as lawyers, so a review by the client's own lawyer stays their call.

WordPress and WooCommerce, design from the mockup up

The store runs on WordPress with WooCommerce. The configurator, the price by quantity and the order fields are custom development for this product, and the blocks on the pages the owner arranges without us.

The design is ours: first a mockup for desktop and phone, code only once it was approved. Before opening, the client walked the whole purchase path as a buyer. The shop opened together with articles written around search phrases, and the handover came with an illustrated guide: how to create a frame or a gift, how to handle orders, where to find the buyer's file and the invoice.

How to order a similar project

If you make goods to the buyer's text, measurements or logo, we start with two things: which fields describe the product, and how the price moves with quantity. That decides whether WooCommerce settings are enough or the cart and checkout are worth writing ourselves, and with it the scope.

Our WooCommerce store development runs from design through to handover, so there is no separate designer to find. Tell us what the buyer has to choose on the product page and who will handle the orders, and we will go through scope, stages and the estimate. Get in touch.
