Why website speed matters to Google and buyers.
Mobile visitors do not wait. When the first view appears after 4-5 seconds, some people leave before seeing any content.
Google measures speed with Core Web Vitals: LCP (largest element rendered), INP (response to a tap) and CLS (layout shifts). Poor metrics lower search visibility and the ad landing page rating.
PageSpeed on mobile often shows 30-60, even when the site feels fast on desktop. The test emulates an average phone on a slower mobile connection.
How we speed up your site.
Server and caching
- Server response time (TTFB)
- Page and object caching
- PHP version and server settings
- CDN and Cloudflare rules
- Database clean-up
Page loading
- WebP or AVIF images with real dimensions
- First-screen element loads first
- Self-hosted fonts, only the weights in use
- CSS and JS only where needed
- No layout shifts while loading
Plugins and scripts
- Heavy plugins replaced with lighter ones or custom code
- Chat widgets, maps and videos load on click
- Pixels and tags after consent, without duplicates
- Page builder bloat
Why your website loads slowly.
Without caching every page is built from scratch. The server answers in 1-2 seconds before any content starts loading.
A 1-3 MB hero photo or slider. On mobile that is the LCP.
Elementor, Divi or WPBakery add hundreds of KB of CSS and JS to every page.
A chat widget, several pixels, YouTube and Google Maps keep the browser busy. On mobile the page ignores taps for seconds.
Several font families in every weight from an external server. Text appears late or jumps.
Deleted plugins leave settings that load with every page. Over a few years this adds up to megabytes.
The banner appears late and pushes content down. CLS suffers.
How it works.
- 01
Free check
We measure PageSpeed on mobile and desktop and the server response. You get the three biggest causes and an estimate in hours.
- 02
Optimisation
We work on a copy. Changes go live after we test forms, cart and checkout.
- 03
Measuring after
Same pages, same test. You get both PageSpeed reports with dates.
- 04
Search Console
Core Web Vitals from real visitors update over 28 days. Then we check again.
Price: €40/h.
A typical job takes 4-8 hours for a business site and 8-16 hours for an online store. You get an exact estimate after the free check.
If security, SEO and GDPR also need a review, we start with an audit for €200. Speed is assessed as part of it.
When the server is the limit, we show it in numbers and suggest a suitable plan. Migration is billed by the hour.
Good fit
- PageSpeed on mobile is below 90
- Search Console reports poor Core Web Vitals
- WordPress, WooCommerce or a custom-built site
- You pay for ads and visitors leave quickly
Not a fit
- A platform where code or server cannot be changed
- 100 on mobile with no changes to content or features
FAQ.
Open pagespeed.web.dev, enter the address and look at the Mobile tab. Performance 90+ is good, 50-89 needs work, below 50 visitors already notice. Or send us the address and we will check it for free.
No. The target is 90+ on mobile. The score depends on the server, content and third-party scripts, some of which cannot be removed.
Not directly. Google uses Core Web Vitals from real visitors. PageSpeed is a lab test, but its findings point to what slows real visitors down.
Usually 1-3 working days after we get access. Search Console shows the change after 28 days.
Not always. We start with caching and settings. If the server is still the limit, we show the measurements and suggest a plan.
Admin access to the site, the hosting control panel and Cloudflare, if you use it.
