MDS Terasos: WooCommerce and terrace calculator

MDS Terasos · 2024

WooCommerce and terrace calculator.

Problem: dimension-based pricing forced “how much will it cost?” emails. Result: WooCommerce with a custom terrace calculator that shows price in real time and leads toward an order.

Calculator. custom Woo tool

In short

  • Custom terrace calculator in the WooCommerce path
  • Price by dimensions and configuration in real time
  • Lithuanian payments and shipping
  • Fewer manual quotes, faster path to an order

Challenge

MDS Terasos sells products whose price depends on dimensions and configuration. A standard WooCommerce catalogue forced customers to ask “how much will it cost?”, and every such email slowed impulse and loaded the sales team.

They needed more than a pretty store: a tool that helps size a terrace and lowers the barrier between idea and order.

Solution

We built a WooCommerce store for the Lithuanian market with a clear catalogue and a custom terrace calculator (plugin) in the purchase path. Customers see an indicative price in real time based on their choices.

The calculator does not replace consultation for complex projects. It removes the first friction point and structures the enquiry when a human is still needed.

Tech and process

Stack: WordPress + WooCommerce, a custom calculator plugin, payments and shipping for Lithuania. In discovery we documented pricing rules, then iterated on UI and logic.

Before launch we tested edge cases (dimensions, combinations) so the custom code stays maintainable, not a black box you’re afraid to update.

Outcome

Customers get a faster path from idea to enquiry or order. Sales spends less time answering the same “how much?” emails and more time on qualified requests.

The project shows when a template is not enough: when business logic is part of conversion, custom WooCommerce pays off faster than another pile of plugins.

How to order a similar project

If your product price depends on dimensions, configuration, or B2B rules, start with a short discovery: rules, MVP calculator, WooCommerce base.

Get in touch via the contact form (WooCommerce or Custom). We’ll discuss scope, stages, and a quote + VAT. After launch we recommend monthly care: custom tools are sensitive to updates.

FAQ.

Does a calculator fit any product?

It fits when price can be described with rules (dimensions, materials, quantities). If everything is “we’ll agree individually”, we clarify the logic first, then the code.

What’s the stack?

WordPress + WooCommerce and a custom plugin. Payments and shipping for the Lithuanian market.
