WooCommerce payments in Lithuania: Paysera, Montonio, Stripe
A Lithuanian online store needs two kinds of WooCommerce payments: bank links and cards. Stripe alone is not enough. Paysera Checkout Modern charges 0% for bank links, Montonio €0.05 plus a monthly fee, and Stripe works for cards. Below: October 2026 fees, which plugin to install and how to connect parcel lockers. A store with payments and shipping from €2,500 + VAT.
In short
- Lithuanian buyers expect both bank links and cards
- Paysera Checkout Modern: 0% for bank links, but a new plugin
- Montonio is cheap per payment, but has a monthly fee from €11.99
- kevin. stopped in 2024, so a second gateway is worth having
- Each carrier has its own parcel locker plugin and contract
Which WooCommerce payments buyers in Lithuania expect
In Lithuania most buyers pay through their own bank, some by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. So a store needs both bank links and cards. WooCommerce does not accept payments by itself: you need a provider and its plugin.
A bank link means the buyer confirms the payment in their bank and the money arrives as a transfer. A plain bank transfer without a provider costs nothing, but then you confirm every order by hand. For more expensive goods, instalments are worth adding.
Paysera WooCommerce plugin: Checkout Modern or Classic
Paysera has two official plugins. The new Paysera Smart Checkout is for Checkout Modern: 0% for bank links for Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian companies, cards from 1.45% (min. €0.15), with the fee falling as volume grows. The old Paysera Payment Gateway (Classic) charges 0.90% for bank links, min. €0.10, max. €0.40.
The two do not work together, so switching needs a new project with different credentials and a test. Paysera holds card funds for 3 days and 5% of the amount for 3 months, which matters for cash flow. The old plugin also handles shipping, the new one does not, so parcel lockers have to be connected separately.
Montonio: banks, cards and instalments in one plugin
Montonio combines banks, cards, Apple and Google Pay, pay in parts, leasing and shipping in one plugin. The Core plan costs €14.99/mo: a bank link €0.05, a card 1.29% + €0.20. The Starter plan is €11.99/mo, a bank link €0.20, a card 1.49% + €0.25.
Example: 100 orders of €50, 70 paid by bank, 30 by card. At public rates excluding VAT, Paysera Modern would cost about €22 and Montonio Core about €44 a month. Montonio pays off when you need leasing, banks from several countries or shipping in one dashboard, and a third option is MakeCommerce without a monthly fee.
Stripe, Revolut and WooPayments: cards and foreign buyers
The Stripe plugin is built by the WooCommerce team itself. Cards cost 1.5% + €0.25, with Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna supported. The Stripe plugin lists no Lithuanian bank links, so for a Lithuanian store it is the second gateway, especially for foreign buyers.
WooPayments has the same rate, but 21% VAT is added to the fees. Revolut Business charges 1% + €0.20 for cards and Revolut Pay, and the monthly fee is part of the Revolut Business plan. That is convenient if the company account is already with Revolut.
Shipping from WooCommerce: Omniva, LP Express, DPD, Venipak
Each carrier has its own plugin and requires a business contract and API credentials. Omniva distributes its own module, LP Express is now called Unisend, and the DPD and Venipak plugins are in the wordpress.org directory. The plugin adds a parcel locker choice at checkout, labels and a tracking link in the email.
When moving from the old LP Express plugin to Unisend, first create shipments for existing orders, then uninstall the old one. If you do not want three or four separate contracts, Montonio and MakeCommerce offer carriers through a single contract.
What to test before launch and why two gateways are worth it
In September 2024 the Bank of Lithuania revoked kevin.'s licence, and stores with a single gateway were left without bank payments. A second gateway, e.g. Paysera and Stripe, is a fallback. Before launch, test:
- a successful and a failed payment
- a refund
- the order status after the bank's response
After the redirect to the bank GA4 often loses the purchase source, so tracking is worth checking at the same time. We connect payments and parcel lockers at launch: a store from €2,500. Get in touch.
